iDesign

Dr. Lee’s practice is the first in the Southeast region to offer a brand new technology called iDesign to his LASIK patients. iLASIK

Your Surgery

Dr. Lee will begin by cleaning the eyelashes and lid area to remove any bacteria that may be present.  Then, several eye drops will be instilled to “numb” the eyes.  First, the Femtosecond laser is used to create a thin flap in your cornea.  During this step, you will feel a pressure sensation very similar to a sinus headache, and your vision will get very dim or go dark.  This step only takes a few seconds to complete.

Once the flap is created you are ready for step two.  Dr. Lee will gently fold back the flap exposing the bed of your cornea.  The Excimer laser is then used to reshape your cornea.  During this part of the procedure you will see and hear the laser, but will feel nothing.  Once treatment is completed, Dr. Lee will position the flap back into place.  Once the cornea is shaped correctly, light can pass through it to the retina, providing dramatically clearer vision.
